It seems everywhere else in the world people are able to watch TV on their cell phones except here in the United States. QuickPlay Media’s PrimeTime2Go application for the BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8900 will get us one step closer to the rest of the world.
PrimeTime2Go charges a monthly fee of $7.99 which will allow the user to download full length episodes and other video content to their mobile phone. The service requires that the device be connected via Wi-Fi to download the shows, but can be watched anywhere once the show is downloaded and saved.
PrimeTime2Go looks like it could be very useful. Think of all that wasted time that could have been spent catching up on your favorite shows.
Like most things at CTIA this year, there wasn’t any really new technology unveiled. PrimeTime2Go takes existing technology and just uses it in a different way.
At $7.99 per month, it’s not a huge price to pay to be able to view your shows virtually anywhere. While there are cheaper methods out there, there probably isn’t an easier to use one, which makes PrimeTime2Go pretty appealing.
PrimeTime2Go is aimed at the couch potato in you, but lets you take that couch with you anywhere.
